Welcome to East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church! As a church we are committed to love Jesus Christ and to share His Love. We offer two weekly services on Sunday: 8:30 a.m. traditional, and 10:45 a.m. contemporary. We offer Sunday School and discipleship classes for children, youth and adults from 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  We want to make certain that your visit is as pleasant and meaningful as possible. How do I get to East Stroudsburg United Methodist?

ESUMC is located at 83 S. Courtland Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. We are in the heart of the Poconos, just minutes from Route 80. Get directions.


What should I do when I arrive?

Once you arrive, be sure to stop by our Welcome Center in the Oberholtzer Hall, the room adjacent to the sanctuary, to pick up further information. Our volunteers can answer any questions you may have about Worship, Sunday School, and how to get to various areas of our church. We offer a nursery for all worship services during the morning. Our friendly volunteers will make sure all your questions are answered and will share a word of greeting, a smile, answer questions, and offer church tours. If you are a first time visitor and did not receive a mug, you can find one at the center.


What time are the services?

We offer two services with nursery care available during all services.
* 8:30 – Traditional Service
* 10:45 – Contemporary Service with Children’s Church (Children dismissed around 11:00 a.m.


What kinds of worship opportunities are offered?

Whether you prefer traditional or contemporary, we have the right worship opportunity for you. Our traditional service is every Sunday at 8:30 a.m., and our contemporary service is at 10:45 a.m.


What should I wear?

You will find a wide variety of attire in worship services at East Stroudsburg. Some people come dressed in jeans and t-shirts while others come dressed business casual. If you prefer to wear ties or a dress, that’s fine too. We invite you to wear what you feel comfortable wearing.


Do you offer Sunday School for Children (Pre-school – 5th Grade)?

Of course! East Stroudsburg has a full offering of Sunday School classes for this age group from 9:45 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.  Children’s Church for ages four through third grade is offered at the 10:45 a.m. service. Guided by a parent volunteer, children will be dismissed around 11:00 a.m. Please pick up your children in the lower level of the church following worship.


Do you offer Sunday School for Youth (6th grade – 12th)?

Our Sunday School opportunities for youth are divided between Junior High (6th – 8th grades) and Senior High (9th – 12th grades) from 9:45 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.


How about a nursery for younger children?

Yes, we have a fully-staffed nursery with pagers available for parents. Our infant and toddler nurseries are available every Sunday from 8:00am to 12:30pm. They are located on the lower level of the church and are staffed with our full time, professional attendants.


What about Adult Sunday School?

There are several opportunities available during 9:45 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. to join an adult class.


Are there opportunities for meeting new people after worship service?

Join us in the Fellowship Hall ( in the back of our facility, same floor as sanctuary) in our Holy Grounds Cafe for coffee, refreshments and lots of conversation between worship hours. Meet the people who worship with you, greet old friends, and make new ones. The café provides our church with an informal opportunity for fellowship.
